POLYMEC SL began its production activity in 1981 as a manufacturer of polyester profiles reinforced with fiberglass and carbon using the pultrusion process. Our more than four decades in the Composites market guarantee our products in terms of quality, innovation and service.
POLYMEC SL is a company in constant development. Advances in technology and the continuous diversification of products have contributed to expanding both our production lines and our catalogue of products and services. We currently have 18 production lines, which allows us to provide a quick and efficient response for our customers and to adapt to all production demands. Likewise, our more than 4,500 m² of facilities allow us to meet our customers’ storage and distribution needs.
We have a research team that works every year on new projects to improve and advance the composites of the future, as well as a sales department that ensures both the development and production of new products always alongside our customers, committed to efficiency and quality.
In the early 1960s, the first pultrusion-made products from the United States appeared in Europe. Employees from one of these American companies established in Spain decided to develop this technology and production locally, becoming owners of their own company. They started with three production lines.
The production lines are increased to 4.
Polymec increases its production capacity with 4 new lines, one of them dedicated exclusively to corrugated fiberglass and/or carbon bars (FRP REBARS). Pultrusion lines: 10
Customer satisfaction has been POLYMEC’s priority from design to production. Our company was founded with this premise in the 20th century, and we continue to grow under the same principle in the 21st century.
Development of a new pultrusion-based profile manufacturing process for the construction and automotive industries. COALINE developed a one-step clean process, free of VOCs and fine particle emissions, capable of producing pultruded composite profiles with a suitable coating through the development of sensing technology, advanced mold design, and microwave-assisted curing needed to achieve better adhesion between the composite and the coating, with lower labor and process costs.
Polymec was a founding member of this business cluster, with Mr. Santos Sánchez, POLYMEC’s manager, serving as its vice-president. The cluster brought together all companies in the composites sector to identify opportunities for innovation and business generation in collaboration with other companies in the industry.
15 lines. The first pultruded profiles with graphene are presented at JEC PARIS.
The project was funded by the European Union under the H2020 program, with a total of 13 partners from seven different countries participating. The project focused on a new manufacturing process using microwaves and lightweight multi-materials to produce more sustainable vehicles.
The project proposed an effective solution capable of transforming waste into raw materials. It was coordinated by Polymec, GLS 2014 and Yesos Rubio, in collaboration with the Technological Center for Marble, Stone and Materials, and financed with the support of the Development Institute of the Region of Murcia and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). As a result, a 38 m² canteen was built in Caravaca (Murcia) using fiberglass, limestone and marble waste with a 3D printer.
Polymec begins exporting its products across Europe and opening new international markets.
With a 1,200-square-meter facility and new production lines. Pultrusion lines: 6
Polymec registers its Duravid corrugated bars as a utility model.

Polymec wins the BUILDING category at the JEC INNOVATION AWARDS in Chicago together with Gazechim Composites Ibérica and the project The White Bow, and becomes a finalist at the JEC’s World Innovation Awards in Paris.
Development of profiles (corrugated rods or other types such as beams) with improved mechanical properties and fire performance, enabling their use in the construction and railway sectors.
Polymec, in its ongoing effort to improve production processes, acquires new manufacturing lines, replacing the older ones and increasing the total to 18 production lines. The new lines are more energy-efficient and include new features adapted to Connected Industry (e-industry).
