Properties and Advantage

All these properties give our polyester profiles reinforced with fiberglass or carbon great durability. In this way, once they have fulfilled their function, they can be reused in other installations, which represents a cost saving for the client.

Chemical resistance

Prevents corrosion, eliminating additional costs for surface treatments. They can be manufactured with UV-resistant treatment. This provides greater resistance when installed in environments with adverse weather conditions.

Mechanical resistance

Fiberglass fabric distributes the impact load across the entire material. As a result, any potential damage is minimized and the durability of the polyester profiles reinforced with fiberglass increases, avoiding breakage or deformation issues.

Insulating

Fiberglass has the property of being a good insulator. It provides electrical insulation, for example to prevent lightning strikes; magnetic insulation to expand its range of applications; and it withstands high temperatures, making it suitable for installation in industrial and harsh environments.

Flexible

Polyester profiles, depending on their diameter, are highly flexible. In addition, they have no memory, so they immediately return to their original shape.

Low weight

Which leads to lower costs in transport, handling and installation. It eliminates the need for heavy equipment or special tools to handle, transport, and install these polyester profiles. This represents a significant economic saving for the customer.

Low maintenance

Due to their insulating properties and chemical and mechanical resistance, polyester profiles do not require continuous maintenance. They are sufficiently protected to withstand outdoor exposure and installations subject to adverse weather conditions.

Cuts

For cutting, it is recommended to use two types of discs:

  • Conventional metal disc: If only a small number of cuts are going to be made. It is not recommended for a large number of cuts since it can lose its edge and therefore its cutting ability.
  • Diamond disc: If a large number of cuts are going to be made. Diamond is a more resistant material and therefore does not wear out or lose its cutting ability. In addition, the finish provided by diamond disc cutting is of higher quality than with a metal disc.

Drilling

For drilling, it is recommended to use different types of drill bits:

  • Conventional metal drill bit: For small amounts of drilling. Not recommended for a large number of holes.
  • Diamond drill bit: For large quantities of drilling. Diamond is a more resistant material and the finish it provides on the piece is much better than with a conventional metal drill bit.

Unlimited design

Pultruded profiles can be designed and manufactured in versatile and special shapes, using different types of resins, additives and fibers, which makes it easy to obtain products with different properties for specific applications.
