Mechanization

Fiberglass profiles can be mechanized according to the client’s needs. Their manipulation can be complete, in such a way that Fiberglass Profiles can be cut, sanded, joined or drilled. For security reasons, the use of protective gloves, glasses and mask is recommended for the mechanization of profiles. This way, the irritation caused by inhaling the dust resulting from their cutting will be avoided.

Cuts

To perform cuts, two types of disk are recommended.

  • Conventional Metal Disk: If few cuts are going to be performed. Not recommended for large amounts of cuts, as they can go blunt and, as such, lose their cutting capacity.

  • Diamond Disk: If large amounts of cuts are going to be performed. Diamond is a more resistant material and, as such, it does not go blunt and lose its cutting capacity easily. Furthermore, the finish that the diamond disk provides is of a greater quality than when using metal disks.

As far as possible, it is recommended using waterjet cutting so as to avoid spreading the dust resulting from cutting.

Drill

In order to drill holes, it is advisable to use two types of drill bits.

  • Conventional Metal Drill Bit: for small amounts of drill holes. Not recommended for large amounts of drill holes.

  • Diamond Drill Bit: for large amounts of drill holes. Diamond is a more resistant material and the resulting finish on the piece is of a greater quality than when using conventional drill bits.
