Our fiberglass profiles provide a strong, lightweight and corrosion-free solution. Manufactured with FRP (fiberglass reinforced polyester) using a pultrusion process, fiberglass profiles deliver maximum durability and mechanical resistance, making them ideal for sectors such as naval construction, agriculture and the chemical industry. We offer customized options tailored to your needs.
As a leading supplier of composite parts, at Polymec we also offer fiberglass plates and other FRP products designed to maximize efficiency and safety in any application.
Our FRP profiles and plates are engineered to withstand extreme conditions without compromising structural integrity. Thanks to their corrosion resistance, high rigidity and low weight, they are the ideal alternative to traditional materials such as steel, wood or aluminum, especially in environments exposed to humidity, chemicals or sharp temperature changes.
In addition to our standard range of structural profiles, Polymec develops custom solutions according to customer specifications. We have a technical team specialized in composite design and machining, enabling us to adapt dimensions, shapes and resin types to meet specific needs in sectors such as energy, rail, telecommunications or civil infrastructure.
The versatility of FRP makes it a sustainable and cost-effective long-term option. At Polymec, we combine advanced pultrusion technology with over 40 years of experience to deliver products that meet the highest standards of quality, efficiency and durability. POLYMEC FRP products offer high strength with a weight considerably lower than that of steel or aluminum. In addition, unlike metals, FRP is not affected by corrosion and is resistant to various chemical substances. Our FRP products also retain their mechanical properties even under extreme environmental conditions such as UV radiation, humidity and temperature fluctuations over long periods of time.
Our products are durable and lightweight, making them ideal for a wide range of applications. They are characterized by their corrosion resistance, electrical insulation, high-temperature resistance, light weight and versatility in shapes.
Standard pultruded profiles have a minimum thickness of 2 mm. If a client has a special project requiring a smaller thickness, POLYMEC can analyze and develop it together with the client.
With more than 45 years of experience, Polymec has successfully manufactured round profiles with a thickness of less than 2 millimeters.
Pultruded profiles are available in different colors. The coloration is achieved by mass-dispersing a color paste of the specified RAL: when mixed with the other components of the polymer matrix and the reinforcing fibers, it undergoes a slight color shift compared to the original RAL.
Pultruded profiles cannot be transparent due to the presence of reinforcing fibers, mineral fillers and additives mass-dispersed within the matrix.
Pultruded profiles can be painted just like aluminum or steel.
3D prints of the profile can be made to verify joints and/or design quality, but a pultruded profile cannot be prototyped in terms of composition (reinforcement and matrix) and therefore mechanical properties, unless the final production mold has been manufactured.
Pultruded profiles are made with a thermoset polymer matrix and therefore cannot be bent or melted.
Pultruded profiles cannot be welded; to join them they can be bonded, screwed or riveted.
